Catch the Ace
Support the Barrie Legion and your Community!
When purchasing a $5 lottery ticket, select a number from 1 to 52, record it in the envelope selection box and write your name and phone number. Information displaying which envelope numbers are still available will be available with the seller of the tickets. Tear the stub with your name, phone number, and envelope selection and give it to the seller for placement in the Barrie Legion Ticket Drum.
The Draw!
Our Draws take place at 7 pm Thursday Nights at the Barrie Legion. Only one ticket will be drawn from the tickets sold that week. That ticket holder automatically win's 20% of the week's total from the ticket sales.
If the envelope number he or she selected does NOT contain the Ace of Spades, 30% of the week's total from ticket sales is added to the lottery jackpot, which will continue to grow until the envelope containing the Ace of Spades is selected. The next week, the envelope number selected in the previous Thursday Draw will be crossed out (removed) reducing the available numbers and increasing your odds of winning the jackpot.

In addition to our Weekly Winners we have had several major winners when they find the Ace of Spades!
Who knows where the Ace of Spades is?
The answer is, nobody! The lottery begins with a standard deck of 52 playing cards, which are shuffled, placed face-down and inserted into unmarked manila envelopes. The envelopes are then sealed, shuffled again, and then numbered from 1 to 52 and placed into a locked wall display at the Barrie Legion. All this procedure is Video Recorded.
Who can play?
Anyone who is a resident of Ontario and over 18 years of age
Where can I buy tickets?
Tickets are $5 each and are available on-line by going to barriecatchtheace.ca/ using your MasterCard or Visa and through selected Debit Cards. Tickets are also sold at the Barrie Legion during the week from 11:30am til 9pm. On the Thursday day of the Draw, online ticket sales cease at 3pm and at the Legion Bar at 5pm.
Some Background
The Barrie Catch the Ace Lottery is an approved Gov’t of Ontario lottery through the AGCO.
We began these lotteries back in 2017 as a way to assist the Barrie Legion to try to deal with projects and unexpected costs on our building and our property. We also identified eight community organizations that would also benefit from this Lottery. In 2022, the Barrie Legion and the Rotary Club of Barrie became partners with this Lottery with all proceeds and expenses shared.
Over the last 6 years, the Barrie Catch the Ace Lottery has contributed over $300K back to the Barrie Legion covering projects including new Point-of-Sale terminals; parking lot asphalt repairs and line painting; a 3 year outside accounting audit, and major upgrades to our building entry and egress points mandated by the Barrie Fire Department.
